Knitting

When I was at the quiltshow in Birmingham,
I saw this knitting project.
I fell in love with it.
The last time I was Knitting must be 30 years ago.
It is 1.80 cm long, and have only 12 stitches on the needle.

england tour 2

Quilt Museum York.

In York we visited the museum of the British Quilters Guild
They gave us the oppertunity to look in their depot.
What I saw there was so special, that I want to show you all.
This jacket is made about 1947 just after World War 2
In England and in the Netherlands you could not buy textile,
their was shortage of everything,
it was what we called on the bill.
A mother made this from old clothes for her daughter.

oranje

Today is the great day for the netherlands.
We are in the final of the worldcup football(soccer)
I live close by the big square Museumplein , they think that there are coming about 100.000 people this evening.
Last night a campingbus from italie was parked near my house,
today we saw that they have a business in all kind of orange things and the dutch flag.


I went to the square 3 hours before the match.
Here is a small expression.

England textile tour.(1)

I was in England with the textile tour of Deb Roberts together with my friend Rhoxane
We spend 17 days on all kind of textiles, mostley quilts.
We started In Manchester than Wales, Bath, London, Durham, York and again Manchester.
I saw beautiful quilts but I cannot put them on the blog ( copyright things)

But I can give you some impressions, of our tour.

This is an shop in Manchester but I saw it also in London,
They have hunders of sewing machines in their shop window.




In london we had dinner with 2 nice ladies I met last year at the retreat of Gwen Marston May Elizabeth Kinch and Biz Storms,
