my little lion

I have two cats,sisters.
They both are britisch shorthair tabby cats, one grey and one brown.

Saartje is the grey one

Pluisje is the brown tabby,
she is a breed variation, has long hair ,
she hates the comb, and therefore. she gets a lot of knots.
so I take her to the vet each year to be shaved,
unfortunately she has to be under anaesthetic.

This is how she normaly is

And this how she is now, the vet keeps a plume at the end of her tail, otherwise she doesn't regornises her own tail.

She looks like a cartooncat now,she is so tiny .
But I think she is happy without all that hair.

  2. Ach arm beestje een narcose en dan zo grappig eruit komen. Maar al die klitten is ook wat natuurlijk. Groeit haar haar weer snel?

  4. Pluisje does look like a cartoon cat.

I've seen cats in Hawaii where the owners cut their cats, similar to Pluisje, as it gets so hot their. I've come to think the cats actually like it. I hope Pluisje doesn't mind.

  5. Poor little Pluisje! It's just like I say to my daughter, "Don't worry, it'll grow back!" Cheers,
    Ann.

  6. I have a Tortie Persian who loves a brush but hates the mat comb. I take her outside for a good brushing. The fur goes into the bushes for the birds and squirrels. And she is so afraid of the big bad outside that I can usually get most of the mats out. I do take her to the vet for a "sanitary cut". They have never mentioned a total lion cut. Too cute but with winter coming I will leave her fur on.
Have you seen the video of a woman who knits objects for customers from their cat's fur removed during grooming? She makes purses etc.

  7. I have Maine Coons in California, USA where it is often 108 degrees during the summer. I shave them as well, leaving the tassel on the end of the tail. The new kittens always have a great time chasing the tassels on the older cats :-). The older cats are very cooperative with the clipping and are very relieved to not be so hot.
